Pawport
Every vaccine, pill and vet visit — and who in the house is on it.
A pet health passport: vaccines, meds and vet visits in one timeline, reminders for the whole household and a shareable QR card for sitters.
A self-initiated concept, designed like a real product.
The brief we set ourselves
Design a health passport for pets that a whole household can share: vaccines, meds and vet visits on one timeline, reminders with a named person on each, and a card a sitter can open without installing anything.
Who it is for
Dog and cat owners aged 25–40, multi-pet households sharing the care, and the sitters and neighbours who step in for a weekend.
What we designed
A household home, a pet profile with a health score and weight chart, a health timeline with a new-reminder sheet, a shareable sitter card — and the components behind them.
Design facts from the concept files — not business results.
02ResearchPets are family. Their paperwork is a drawer.
We checked how many households keep pets and who the new owners are, then looked at pet-care shots on Dribbble and Behance — most stop at a cute profile and a calendar.

- Market
94M U.S. households own a pet (82M in 2023), and the industry spent $152B in 2024.
DecisionDesign for households, not one owner: several pets, several people, tasks with an owner avatar on each.
- Audience
Gen Z's share of pet owners rose from 11% in 2018 to 20% in 2024 — a mobile-first audience.
DecisionFriendly, tidy and fast: a photo-first home, round Fredoka headings, big ticks — and a sitter card that works in any browser.
- Gallery gap
Pet-care shots usually show a profile and a feed; overdue care, shared responsibility and handing a pet to someone else are rarely designed.
DecisionDesign the moments that go wrong: an overdue dental clean as an error state, «tell the whole household if nobody ticks it by 21:00», and a QR sitter card.
Patterns we borrowed
- 11pets
- Only the functional direction — pet health records; its design was not audited or reused
- Family to-do apps
- Today's tasks with an owner avatar and a big tick per row
- Health apps
- A score ring with a short checklist of what is up to date, soon or late
- Wallet passes
- A card with a QR code that opens care instructions without an account
What we left out
Logos, mascots, copy and screens of any pet app. Pawport has its own name, mark and pet photography; the QR code is a drawn stand-in, not scannable.
Moodboard references
From grey cards to a passport the whole house uses.
Every «before» is generated from the very same screen markup, reduced to outlines, readable labels and grey word-bars — no colour, photos or cut-outs. Drag a handle to compare.

- 01
Hierarchy
Who is due what today comes before any pet profile: the home is a household to-do list under a photo, with the pets as a switcher.
- 02
Grid & density
R24 cards and pill buttons on an 8-pt rhythm; the orange FAB is the single «add» everywhere.
- 03
States
Given / due / overdue tasks, an alert badge on the pet switcher, vaccines up to date · in 3 days · 6 days late, an empty state and a toast.
- 04
Assets
A corgi photo and two pet cut-outs made for the concept; the cut-outs break the top edge of their cards, and avatars are crops of the same photos.
- 05
Sharing
The sitter card is the handoff: feeding, meds, an allergy and the vet on one white card with a QR — no app needed.
- 06
Real-looking data
Three pets, three people, «Thyroid tab ½ with dinner», a 12-month weight curve inside a healthy band — real lengths test every row.
Collar blue for care, ball orange for play.
Collar blue carries actions, selection and the sitter screen (6.6:1 with white text); ball orange is 2.39:1 on cloud, so it fills the FAB and the share button with ink on top — never text. Fredoka sets friendly headings, Nunito the interface.
A rounded blue «P» with an orange paw in its bowl — one simple mark that reads at 32 px. Variant 2 of a grid of four directions, redrawn as one path, a pad and four toes.

Questions & answers
Is Pawport a real product?
No. Pawport is a self-initiated concept by Omnisense — a brief we set ourselves, with no client and no business metrics. Pets, people, the clinic and the phone number in the screens are sample data.
Who is Pawport for?
Dog and cat owners aged 25–40, multi-pet households sharing the care, and the sitters and neighbours who step in for a weekend.
Can a pet sitter use it without the app?
That is the idea of the sitter card: feeding, meds, an allergy and the vet on one card with a QR code that opens the care instructions in any browser, without an account. In the concept the QR code is a drawn stand-in, not scannable.
How does shared care work?
Every reminder has a named person on it, today's tasks show who is on each, and the whole household can be told if nobody ticks a task by 21:00. Overdue care is designed as a real state, not hidden.
What did you design?
A household home, a pet profile with a health score and weight chart, a health timeline with a new-reminder sheet and a shareable sitter card — plus the component sheet, logo, palette and type system.
